"The black tie event welcomed spring in style on Saturday, April 25, 2009. Honorary Chair Emily Wurn and Ball Chairs Caroline Busker, Suzanne Hinckley and Denise Hudmon celebrated the Cummer's gardens and the vision of Arthur and Ninah Cummer: to create a "center of beauty and culture worthy of the community."Proceeds from the thirty-second annual Ball & Auction will go toward the refurbishment of Mrs. Cummer's drawing room. The Cummer's original house had to be torn down to make way for the Museum, but the family's living room was dismantled and reconstructed inside the new building. The Cummer Council is committed to preserving this part of the Museum's rich history.

The members of the 26.2 With Donna marathon training team celebrated as they reached a run of 26 miles on January 17th at the Baldwin Rail Trail. Medals, food and fun were all part of the celebration. The team is working towards the goal of completing the National Marathon to Fight Breast Cancer on February 15th.
